Red Sox in Seattle

For our family reunion on Jen's side of the family, Jen and I arranged for all the family to go to Safeco field in Seattle to see the Boston Red Sox play the Mariners. Jeff, nice smile, by the way. We had a blast. Jen and I were all dressed up in our Boston gear and most of the rest of the family wore their Mariners stuff. We got to the game early so that I could try to catch some fly balls during batting practice. The Red Sox won the first game, but lost the other two.

On Saturday, my friend Troy joined us for Saturday's game and we had a blast getting into trouble as the Red Sox lost. Fortunately, the game was a fantastic game. It went into extra innings and either team could have won it. It was so much fun, despite the loss.

On Sunday, Jen's father, Jerry, attended the game with us. Again, the Red Sox lost, but we had a great time bonding with her dad. After the game Jen decided to do what she used to do with her dad growing up - feed the seagulls. Hence the picture of her doing the Walk Like an Egyptian pose.

Craig receives Top Dawg award from Xanodyne Pharmaceuticals Metro Division

Craig was given the Top Dawg award for leading his sales division for the quarter. He still works for Xanodyne pharmaceuticals and loves it. He really enjoys the doctors that he visits and his doctors are beginning to really prescribe his prenatal vitamins. Hopefully in 2008, Craig will have some really exciting new products to promote.

Catching King Salmon near Seattle

Jen and I had so much fun on this trip. We spent the day on our friend Jerry's boat and traveled about 12 miles west of Aberdeen, WA deep into the Pacific Ocean. As soon as we put our bait into the water Jen caught the first King Salmon of the day. We had to wait a couple of hours before we caught the next one, but when we went back to shore we had 3 King Salmon. We took the fish to a local cannery and had them filleted, vacuum sealed, flash frozen, and shipped to us in Massachusetts. After the fish were filleted, they weighed a wopping 44 pounds. When they got here to Massachusetts, Jen and I had to buy a new freezer in order to store them. We have had lots of amazing salmon dishes. Fresh caught salmon like this is a million times better than what we get at the local fish markets here. Our favorite dish is when Craig grills the salmon on a cedar plank with the salmon smothered in a homemade pesto butter sauce. As the butter melts a delicious pesto crust forms on the top of the salmon. It is absolutely delicious. Another favorite is to grill the salmon, slice it up and add it to a ceasar salad with homemade dressing.
